Our Chamber used to continue its activities as the Agent in Nizip, Kilis, and Islahiye under Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce which was founded in Gaziantep in 1898. While the number of registered factories to Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce was 9, it reached to 12 in 1928, and to 37 in 1933. There were 17 factories in centre, 11 ones in Kilis and 6 ones in Nizip. With the decision of 4355 of Chamber of Commerce and the Act of Commerce Exchange which was passed on 11 January 1943 and came into force on 18 January 1943, it became the board of Directors with its Profession Assembly. There were 13 working soap manufactories in the centre, 15 in Nizip and 7 ones in Kilis between 1954-1957. Becoming a symbol of Nizip, soap manufacturing has been done since 1920. Nizip that became a district in 1926 had around 6600 population. There were 6 factories in 1933. The population of the District was 15132 in 1957. There were 15 working soap manufactories between 1954-1957. Ulfet Food and Soap Industry Co. Which began to its production in 1957 made name of Nizip be heard in Turkey. Our chamber has been independed from Gaziantep and it took the name of Nizip Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The number of registered firms to the Chamber was 248 in 1962, 372 in 1968 and there were 8 exporter firms in our District. It continued to its activities with the name of Nizip Chamber of Commerce and Industry until 1989. With the foundation of Chamber of Industry in Gaziantep and the decision of 10 (632/1027) of Ministry of Commerce and Industry on 22.05.1989. It took the name of Nizip Chamber of Commerce. As Nizip Chamber of Commerce, we started out ot make studies on improving private sector, being integrated to World Economy as well as being in connection with other sectors; to support social and cultural activities of the District; to follow probable innovations concerned with trade and industry of the District; to collect and prepare knowledge and documnets related to the aim of our Foundation and send them to the persons who need them; to make studies on conjuncture occured in terms of the region and country’s changing economy; to prepare reports; to introduce our District in national and international platforms. We started our way on quality with doing continuous resources to make the quality of our utilities higher. Firstly we took Kosgeb Synergism Focal and subsequent to it the Resource and Development, and Abigem unities under the roof of our Chamber, too. We set ISO 9001:2000 Quality Managment System which is based on conception of continuous improvment and member galdness. Oue next goal is to document the quality of the productions at home and abroad sales; to establish an acredite laboratory at which can be made the necessary analysis, and to prepare a land for fairs that will be able to carry the productions of Nizip Industry into the national and international platforms. As Nizip Chamber of Commerce we will improve the quality of our utilities according to benefits of you our worthy members. And we will walk along with you into the future.
